Thanks so much for choosing to be a member at Glencorse Golf Club. We hope you're enjoying your experience so far.
Over the past months, due to COVID restrictions, there has been a number of updates and changes to the way we would normally play golf here at Glencorse.
We've put this information together, including using ideas from Current Members of Glencorse, to help you settle in.
Following the re-opening of golf in June 2020, we had to make some adjustments to the way in which people entered and exited the course.
Members should arrive for their tee time no earlier than 10 minutes before. The 1st tee should be accessed in the usual way, through the entrance where the pro shop is.
If there are still people waiting to tee off, please make use of the astro turf area and stand there until the tee is available.
When exiting the course, it's important that all golfers exit from the hole in the hedge at the 12th tee area. This exit should be used no matter what hole you play to, and careful attention should be made if you are crossing the 18th fairway.
Locker room and toilets currently remain closed, along with the rest of the clubhouse facilities.
We ask all members to park any larger vehicles / vans in the overflow car park. This is located on the other side of the road, with the entrance being located on the road towards Glencorse Church.
Unfortunately when vans are parked in the main car park it causes issues with visibility.
Have you downloaded the Club V1 App yet?
The main club app is Club V1. This provides members with a list of the fixtures, team matches, knockout competitions and also competition score entry.
This is a must for members at Glencorse. Club V1 is also linked to HowDidIDo - so if you already have one of these accounts you should be able to link it by using the same email and password to login to Club V1.
BRS is our tee sheet management system. You will use this to book casual times. Times are released 6 days in advance at 12:00.
For our men's section, competitions are also booked through BRS, however, both the ladies section and junior section use Club V1 for entering competitions.
Cliffe will provide you with a Score Card for the Competition in return for your £3 or so entry fee. This will cover the prizes.
There is currently no need to swap cards, however, enter the name and individual scores of your playing partner on each hole in the Markers Score Column. Fill out your score and sign it.
Now enter your score on-line using the Club V1 App - include who was marking your score - and then sign it.
Did you play well?
If you think you might be in the running, for example 36 points - then place your card into the green box as you exit the course.
Remember to have entered your score into the CV1 App before doing so!
(you can always take a photo if you're short of time?)
If you had a "2" - you must place your card in the box too.
Your Entry Free for each competition gives you 2 chances to win:
The Main Competitions are split into Handicap Sections -
Division 1 - 9 and under
Division 2 - 10 to16
Division 3 - Over 16
There is usually a prize for the top 3 in each Division. The prize money goes on your Card
If you get a Two on any Hole - Circle it on your Score Card and then post it in the box.
You will be then awarded a share of the Two's Pot - which is again allocated per Division.
Although Dougie will email out the winners, you must mention to Cliffe that you had a two - he keeps the record - you can spend your winnings in the Pro's Shop.
If you plan to get a few Two's over the Season - Cliffe can open a tab for you.
The Scottish Golf app can be used to see your Handicap Index and all of the relevant scores that have made up your best 8 out of 20 - which represents your handicap index.
This app also allows you to submit a General Play card - check out the New World Handicap System Section for more information.
The World Handicap System is new for 2021. We recently sent a newsletter to all Members providing them with information on how to get ready for the changes, when the course moves from the current Winter Format.

Our greenkeepers work hard throughout the year to maintain the course to the best standard possible. But we need our members to ensure they are following normal etiquette to ensure the condition is maintained. This is especially important at the moment when footfall is extremely high.
Trolleys are welcome throughout the year, however, the damage of repetitive journeys, especially when around the green or if the ground is soft cause wear and tear which could be avoided.
Please don't wheel your trolley onto the tee.
Again, the erosion this causes will damage the Greens.
The greenkeeps have drawn a white line to encourage golfers to avoid areas which get worn, for example this is the left of the 4th.
You can see why?
Please replace your divots, it only takes a second?
Take a divot on the tee. Due to Covid restrictions the Sand Boxes have been temporarily removed.
When they return, rather than replacing your divot on the tee, fill it with some seed and sand.
If you land on a Winter Green, and it's not the green with the flag, please act as if it is Ground Under Repair and take your ball off.
We tend to use the same locations every year, and a divot on the Winter Green is very frustrating for fellow golfers.
Again, because of Covid Restrictions, all of the Rakes have had to be removed.
Once you have splashed out, please smooth out as best you can for the next visitor.
Cliffe sells rakes which clip onto a club which do an excellent job, something to consider if you are a frequent visitor?
We've put together a hole by hole guide of Frequently Asked Questions
They cover the Front and Back 9 - why not have a look, and if you have any you're unsure about, please use the Contact Us form and we'll look to add.
